Supporting our kupuna of the kanaloa realm, we respond to ocean animals in distress, coordinate with agency responders and conduct cultural protocol as needed to provide the highest level of care. Through understanding our kanaloa, we can provide advocacy and education that brings our kanaka practice into alignment that benefits everyone.
Kā'ililau
Waipilihoa has been documenting the annual ho'okupu presented by the community for Makahiki for six seasons now, compiling the information into a database that assists the loea of ho'omāhuahua to analyze trends and correlations between the production of the 'āina and maka'ainana, between weather and effort, between policy and implementation.
